Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Shoreditch Movers
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Shoreditch Movers has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our own operations or in any part of our supply chains. Shoreditch Movers is committed to conducting business ethically, with integrity, and with respect for the dignity and human rights of every individual.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Shoreditch Movers has a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, or child labour. We expect the same high standards from all our employees, contractors, agency workers, suppliers, and business partners. Any suspicion, allegation, or evidence of modern slavery connected to our business will be treated with utmost seriousness and addressed immediately.
We recognise that the removals, logistics, and associated service sectors can be vulnerable to exploitation. As such, we are committed to taking proactive and proportionate measures to prevent, identify, and remediate any risk of modern slavery.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Our core services include residential and commercial removals, packing, storage, and related logistical support. Our supply chain includes vehicle and equipment providers, subcontracted labour, facilities and maintenance services, and providers of packaging materials and uniforms. We aim to work only with reputable partners who share our ethical standards and demonstrate respect for human rights in their own operations.
Supplier Standards, Due Diligence, and Audits
We are strengthening our approach to supplier management to reduce the risk of modern slavery. Shoreditch Movers is developing and implementing supplier standards that clearly set out our expectations regarding fair pay, safe working conditions, and freedom from coercion or exploitation.
As part of our due diligence, we assess new suppliers on their labour practices and approach to modern slavery. Where appropriate, we ask suppliers to confirm that they comply with applicable labour laws and that they do not tolerate forced or trafficked labour in their own supply chains.
We are establishing a programme of risk-based supplier audits. These audits may include reviewing documentation, site visits where practical, and discussions with management and workers. Where we identify non-compliance or areas for improvement, we will work with suppliers to implement corrective actions. If any supplier is unwilling or unable to meet our standards, we reserve the right to review, suspend, or terminate the relationship.
Training and Awareness
Shoreditch Movers is committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks among our workforce. Relevant employees, especially those involved in recruitment, procurement, and site management, will receive training on recognising signs of exploitation and understanding our reporting channels. All staff will be reminded that treating colleagues, subcontractors, and third-party workers with respect is a core part of our culture and values.
Reporting Concerns and Protection from Retaliation
We encourage anyone connected to Shoreditch Movers, including employees, subcontractors, agency workers, and suppliers, to raise concerns about possible modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns may relate to our own business or to any organisation in our supply chain.
Reports can be made confidentially to line managers or senior management. We will take all reports seriously, investigate proportionately, and act promptly where issues are substantiated. No one who raises a concern in good faith will be victimised, disciplined, or otherwise disadvantaged for doing so, even if the concern is not ultimately substantiated.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Shoreditch Movers recognises that preventing modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to continually improving our policies, procedures, and controls to reduce risk and enhance transparency in our operations and supply chains.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by senior management. The review will consider changes in our business, developments in legislation and best practice, and feedback from employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Where necessary, we will update our procedures, training, and supplier requirements to ensure they remain effective and proportionate.
This statement reflects our commitment to ethical business practices and to playing our part in eliminating modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms.
